Babies – 15 months

Mini Mice is our younger music class and you’re never too young to join.

Fun music and movement classes for your littlest ones

Besides the range of varied instruments and awesome music, there’s lots of sensory, tickling, raspberries, clapping, cuddles, movement and key-word signing, as well as more calming bubbles and fairy lights. We enjoy props big and small in just the right balance – the list is fairly extensive, but think swathes of fabrics to wobble, parachutes, lights, scene setting, sensory balls, things that scrunch, squish, flash, all the textures, the list goes on… There will be plenty of variety from week to week to make sure your little one gets a wide range of musical play, balanced with the loose structure that young ones benefit from. We will always sing the same opening and closing songs with varying silly songs and nursery rhymes in the middle.

In Mini Mice, we focus on songs and movement suited to this younger audience, including actions carefully considered to develop motor skills, communication, coordination and imagination. We use activities and key-word signing to aid communication skills (and of course singing is also known to aid language development). Be prepared to join in with the actions, dance and rock ‘n’ roll around with them! The class lasts for approx. 40 minutes and is designed to suit their limits of stimulation. Our classes give you precious bonding time with your little one(s) – activities aimed for you to partake with your little one, make memories and have fun together. And of course, (and very importantly): socialising for both you and your little one. I love how friendly and inclusive our classes are and watching friendships grow amongst the grown ups as well as the little ones brings such joy.

The grown ups enjoy the Mini Mice music as much as the kids too – we don’t think children need to have bad taste in music. We’ve tried to make music for the whole family to enjoy across a range of musical genres to introduce little ones to the variety out there. Who knows, your little one might surprise you with a love of rock, or funk, or country music!

There are plenty of elements for everyone in this class, but get in touch to ask more if you’ve any questions.

Please note: parents remain in a supervisory role of their little one throughout the session.

The musical creativity puts a twist on the children’s songs you know and love. Ellie and Max (the mouse) are a breath of fresh air every week and I actively looked forward to being able to start going again with my second baby girl who loves it just as much as my first did!
